Famed for its white truffles, delicious cheeses, and hazelnuts; with village names like Barolo and Barbaresco, it’s easy to understand why Piemonte is a gourmet’s paradise. But the region offers much more than wine and gastronomic delights, the countryside is as beautiful as it is bountiful. Our walks take us through the gentle hills and vineyards of the Langhe region, to idyllic medieval villages and up into the dramatic landscape of the Alta Langa. Up here we get stunning views of the mountains beyond, with Mont Blanc and Monviso dominating the sky line.  Piemonte is a gourmet’s paradise and with its abundance of excellent fresh produce and talented artisan food producers it comes as no surprise that the Slow Food movement started here. And for wine lovers Piemonte offers something to suit every palate, from Barolo, the most powerful long-lived red wine  to Gavi, the lightest and most delicate of whites.  This trip places a special emphasis on food and wine, combining walking through vineyards with visits to cellars, tutored tastings and wine and food pairing.
