Cornwall: South West Coast Path

Created by coastguards to spot smugglers, the South West Coast Path is the longest national trail in the country. Our walking adventure brings you the best of  of the coast path  and West Cornwall, which is well known for its dramatic coastline, traditional fishing villages, golden sands, fabulous seafood and sub-tropical gardens. We explore the clifftops of the  Penwith Peninsula with its spectacular scenery, high cliffs and pounding waters of the Atlantic ocean. Discover  wildlife, picturesque villages as well as the historic mining settlements that silhouette the landscape. From the most rugged moorland cliff tops, to the charming streets of Porthleven and the uncrowded Lizard Peninsula, it is a walk of incredible beauty and an adventure that will live long in the memory.

Days 1 & 2: St Ives; Rendezvous in this vibrant artist's colony, walk a dramatic section of the coastal path across rugged granite moors to the village of Zennor, with its quaint church, and a great old pub called The Tinner’s Arms built in 1271. Zennor was home to D.H Lawrence, where he wrote ‘Woman in Love,’  Gurnards Head Hotel

Days 3 & 4: Sennen; Hike through the old mining districts of St Just and Pendeen, take a guided tour of the Geevor tin mine, cross headlands crowned by Iron Age forts and Bronze Age burial chambers, stay in the pretty village of Sennen Cove. The Old Success Inn

Days 5, 6 & 7: Land's End & Mousehole; Hike through a landscape of outstanding natural beauty, with vaulted cliffs, sea arches and dramatic pink cliffs, enjoy the views out to Scilly Isles. Stop along the way to admire the lush gardens and enjoy a Cornish cream tea. Explore the remote Lizard Peninsula; enjoy the panoramic views of St Michael’s Mount, visit the pretty fishing village of Porthleven and celebrate having walked 104 km. Polurrian Hotel
