Our hiking adventure takes us to explore two distinct landscapes, The Kingdom of Fife and the Cairngorms National Park. We begin on the Fife Coastal Path, which links picturesque fishing villages, complete with stone harbours, cobbled streets and stunning views across the Firth of Forth. This corner of Fife  is a haven for wildlfe, so look out for basking seals, puffins, terns and eider ducks. We visit St Andrews, home to Scotland's oldest university and full of architectural gems. Fife is also celebrated for its  excellent food and drink; smokehouses, distilleries and chocolate shops abound.

We then head to the Scottish Highlands and the magnificent Cairngorms. We explore Royal Deeside, so called for the River Dee and the patronage of Queen Victoria who loved this area and spent much time at Balmoral. We hike in the National Park, home to the  ancient and unique Caledonian pine forests.  We transfer across the park to our final destination, south of Aviemore. Here we hike among majestic scenery teeming with wildlife. The park is a haven for iconic species such as ptarmigan, capercaillie, red squirels and osprey. It's a nature lover's paradise.

Days 1 & 2 Fife: Meet in Edinburgh, and transfer to Fife and the picturesque village of Elie; walk  the Fife Coastal Path, explore the villages of Pittenweem, Crail and Ansthruther. Explore historic St Andrews and its magnficent cathedral. Try a wee gin at a local distillery.

Days 3 & 4 Ballater: Visit Crathes Castle and gardens. Explore Glen Muick, walk through ancient pine woods to a Victorian hunting lodge and circumnavigate beautiful Loch Muick. Enjoy the clear sparkling air, rugged scenery, & a wee distillery.

Days 5, 6 & 7 Kingussie: We take a panoramic transfer across the national park to our luxurious retreat outside Aviemore. Hike to Uath Lochans and explore the hidden gem of Glen Feshie, one of the most beautiful Cairngorm glens. Discover the Rothiemurchus estate, and jewel-like Loch-an-Eilein with its ruined island castle. Finish the day with cream cakes at my favourite highland cafe.
