Walking through the Vineyards of Northern Italy
Famed for its truffles, and with town names like Barolo and Barbaresco, it's easy to understand why Piedmont is a gourmet’s paradise. With its abundance of excellent fresh produce and talented artisan food producers it comes as no surprise that the Slow Food movement started here. And for wine lovers Piedmont offers something to suit every palate, from the most powerful long-lived reds to the lightest, most delicate whites, elegant Barbaresco and powerful Barolo. But Piedmont offers much more than gastronomic delights ' the countryside is as beautiful as it is bountiful. Our walks take us through the gentle hills and vineyards of the Langhe region and up into the dramatic landscape of the Alta Langa. Up here we get stunning views of the mountains beyond, with Mont Blanc and Mont Viso dominating the sky line. This trip places a special emphasis on food and wine, combining walking through vineyards with vists to cellars, tutored tastings and wine and food pairing.
